Health Systems in Transition (HiT) 2014

Myanmar HiT (2014)

The Myanmar HiT reports of positive indications that, along with the changes in the country’s political system and administrative structures following the 2010 national elections, the new government is undertaking important reforms in the health sector.
Although resources for health sector have been limited until recently, life expectancy at birth increased for both males and females between 1980 and 2011, along with an increase in the child immunization coverage, and declines in infant and under-five mortality rates, including maternal mortality ratio. Myanmar has made some progress towards achieving its Millennium Development Goals (MDG), but further improvement is needed to reach the 2015 targets.

3MDG CALL FOR PROPOSALS:

3MDG CALL FOR PROPOSALS: COLLECTIVE VOICES – UNDERSTANDING COMMUNITY HEALTH EXPERIENCES / Reference No. (1_CfP_3MDG_AEI_201407)

The goal of the Three Millennium Development Goal Fund (3MDG) is to improve health outcomes for people in Myanmar, through an accountable, equitable and inclusive approach. This Call for Proposals aims to generate better information for all stakeholders around health needs and approaches at the community level. It targets local and grassroots organisations whose linkages and proximity to communities puts them in the best position to articulate community health needs and how to best respond to them. 3MDG is now requesting proposals from qualified local organisations to lead innovative, community-led projects that explore accountability, gender equity and social inclusion issues at the local level.

Proposals are especially encouraged and welcomed from within geographical areas where the 3MDG operates.
